Curl Detox Treatment

Great curls start with clean, healthy hair. You will receive a Get Pure treatment to remove minerals and buildup followed by an application of K18 for hair strengthening. Your hair will feel new again. Price depends on the amount of product used during your service. $50- $100+

Learn Your Curls

Need more training? You'll receive a shampoo, condition, and diffuse dry style including a customized detailed training session pertaining to your hair. You will get the opportunity to learn and ask questions as we proceed. 60 minutes+ $90+

Curl Rehab Treatment

This treatment is perfect for hair damaged from the overuse of heat styling irons, blow drying ,and chemical damage from color and perms. Although some damage is irreversible and needs to be cut away, much damage is actually manageable and can be treated to achieve amazing results. Curl Rehab is a more customized approach and may include a treatment to remove buildup (Get Pure), strengthen (K18), and mend (Virtue Labs Alpha Keratin 60ku) followed up with your prescription by Virtue Labs or Innersense to maintain your beautiful locks at home. Consultation required.

Kid's Curl Cut

This is a customized service for children under 10 years of age. We will discuss your service before we begin. Your child will receive a dry curl cut followed by a shampoo, conditioner, and product application formulated for your child's hair type and texture. Their hair will be sculpted and placed under a hood dryer to dry. A light fluff or shake will unleash their curls when they are dry. Approximately 30 minutes - one hour. $55 - $100+

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a curl cut and regular haircut?

A regular cut is typically shampooed first, cut wet, and occasionally perfected a bit after it has been dried. Stylists can range from just out of beauty school to being a master hair cutter using this method.

A curl cut is typically performed by what is known as a curl specialist. Curl specialists are stylists who have experience and advanced training specifically designed for wavy to curl hair. A curl cut is generally performed without using a comb on dry hair, in its natural state with all curl patterns, cowlicks, part lines, etc. readily visible to the stylist. This creates an even and balanced hairstyle with no holes or ledges. The hair will move freely and maintain its shape as you style and care for it at home. I like to think of it as creating a sculpture of the hair.

Can I walk in or call same day for a curl cut? How long is the wait?

I do not take walk-ins as I work in an appointment only format. I schedule more time for first time guests in order to perform a comprehensive consultation before I begin cutting. If it is not your first appointment and you are looking for a trim, I may have an occasional opening, but it is rare. Generally, my wait times are between 2-4 weeks.

What is your training and experience with curly hair?

I do not have curly hair myself, and my 30+ years of working as a stylist did not teach me how to work with curly hair. For years I would blow the hair out with brushes or iron the hair in order to create a nice style for my clients. In 2018 I took my first Deva Inspired class. This opened up a whole new world that I didn't know existed. I have since taken Deva Advance in New York, Head Shape Matters Certification, and in October 2020 I became Rëzo Cut certified. All of the classes I have taken work for all curl patterns. I have the most experience working with type 2 (wavy) as well as type 3 (curly). The focus of my future classes will be cutting, and working with type 4 (coil) curls. You may view my work on my Instagram page.

What products do you use on curly hair?

I use and sell Innersense Organic Beauty products as well as Virtue Labs, K18, New Wash, Olaplex, Get Pure, and Malibu products.

Will I be able to recreate my new style at home?

Because your hair is cut dry where it lives in its natural curl state, you should be able to recreate your style at home because the shape will still be there after it is shampooed . If you tend to have problems with uneven curls, frizz, or desire more fullness, I have a service called Learn Your Curls. If you are experiencing flaky, dull, oily, or damaged curls, I offer detox and conditioning services to help you achieve great looking and feeling curls. I also offer a service called Curl Transformation that combines a curl cut, style training, and conditioning.
